H. Glenn Carson. The "H" should be an "I" ... in my opinion, and yours, too, and
I’ll tell you why. If you are reading this, then you are more than likely a Th-er,
(treasure hunter), and you use a metal detector to fulfill a desire to find
valuable coins and jewelry, and maybe prospect for gold, or hunting for caches
of hidden goodies.
"I" ...
Glenn Carson’s desire is not to find valuable coins and the like, that I’ve mentioned above,
though he has enjoyed many years of doing so. Is Glenn a Th-er? You betcha’ he is. But the
man is so much more than a knowledgeable detectorist. I’m sure what I’m about to tell you,
you already know, if you are a detectorist and salivate at the mere mention of information
about the waving of the magic wand (Glenn’s line). He said it, not me, but
he’s right — a metal detector is a magic wand, in the hands of one with a passion.
"I" ... Glenn has a passion that can’t be
categorized as just hunting for old coins and good things lost by others in the dirt —
hidden in an old house, or a new one, or barn — or all of the other places people lose
and hide things from probing eyes. Nope, if you know his works, and can see through the words,
you can find the man. Look deep, and listen close... these are works concerning more than coins
buried far under foot... more than using a looping search coil.
Spun Like Fictional Fairytales Of Adventure
Glenn was a teacher, and still is — but through his books, which are written with passion,
and you can’t write well about something you aren’t passionate about.
His words are full of passion — and that is what makes his books so good. These
non-fiction works are spun like fictional fairytales of adventure. Actually finding the
treasure is only part of the fun. There is more, much more. Being a novelist myself, It
is pure pleasure for me to read Glenn’s works.
What More Could We Ask?
What more could we ask, but to learn from a — shall I tell you what the
"I" ... means now? — Okay, ICON! In
the Th-er’s adventurous and passionate world, take a journey through, "I." Glenn’s masterful
works.
Cache Hunting is one such book. You would do well to get this book and learn what has
been honed and mastered by someone with passion, who is willing to share his findings with you
and with me.
Cache Hunting will teach you how to use your mind and intuitive thoughts to find treasure,
with or without a metal detector. Written with both wonderful stories of discovery, to technical
information that will help you find more treasure.
Research Is The Key
Research is the key to finding large caches of treasure hidden in the ground or a house
or anywhere, really. And Glenn shows you in Cache Hunting, how to go about just that.
Full of tips and techniques that give you a gentle nudge, and get your mind working about
where to hunt and how to go about it in the right way.
The Treasure Jumps Right Off The Pages
What I really loved about the book, being a passionate Th-er who wants to preserve metal
detecting for future treasure hunters, was the care with which we are taught to go about
seeking treasure. Glenn, as we all do and should do, is an advocate for the detectorist
code of ethics. Quite passionate about it. There’s that word again. The stories about
discovered caches are so vivid that the treasure jumps right off the pages, from exotic
destinations around the world. Glenn knows his history when it comes to treasure,
and you will too, when you get your own copy of Cache Hunting.
And no, you can’t borrow mine. I value my book collection of H.Glenn Carson’s works, as
much as you do your best treasure hunting find. It’s that important to me, and it should
be to you, too. Glenn’s works are a treasure trove of information that every Th-er should have.
Cache Hunting is your head-start to finding what's hidden from the seeing eye, a
benefit that the old timers didn’t have.
